"Don't you think you're bounding over your steps?" - Stan Laurel, "The Music Box"

img679.jpgUnquestionably, I spent some of my happiest years in the early 2000’s. The ‘Lisa Era’ came to an end as we got deep into the heart of the year 2000, and almost immediately I was lucky enough to find myself in another meaningful relationship. And thus began the ‘Carolyn Era.’ Not only that, but Ashleigh came to live with us full time right around the same time - and Briana became a very frequent guest and visitor.

In this era, my focus became more on my family than in any other. While Lisa and I were a young couple with very few responsibilities, Carolyn and I were challenged with properly rearing a family. We were very involved with the Bear Creek Church of the Brethren and enjoyed our time there. We took family vacations, attended plays, went out to eat a lot, and participated in family functions with our parents and siblings. We also put a lot of effort into decorating our house and finishing the unfinished basement. In the midst of all of this, we even found time to get married.

All of the family fun was punctuated by watching Ashleigh and Briana grow from children into lovely young ladies. I certainly will never forget this time period and will always look upon it with fondness.

Come celebrate the early 2000’s here.
