ep7.jpgLisa and I visited the Magic Kingdom on Sunday, July 30, 1995, and were ready for day of rest and relaxation at our motel on Monday. It was nice to have time to skip a day between parks and let the blisters subside. That same day, my sister Denise and her boyfriend Chris drove into Orlando from Daytona Beach, where they were staying with my Mom, Bob, and Bryan at the Americano condo, ostensibly for the purpose of visiting Disney World, although today she’s not exactly sure what they were even doing in Orlando, but we agreed that they were not visiting with us.

Mom remembers that they arrived back at Daytona Beach very late that night / Tuesday morning at about 3am…just in time to batton down the hatches for the incoming Tropical Storm Erin, which would soon be upgraded to a hurricane. It was scheduled to greet the eastern Florida seacoast the next evening.

This didn’t stop them from enjoying their time at the beach, nor did it interfere with our plans. Lisa and I went to the remaining two Disney parks, The Disney-MGM Studios and Epcot ‘95 (as it was known that year) on Tuesday, August 1. Naturally, we had a great day and this was the first time we got to ride the new Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. We were so impressed that we had our picture taken in front of the ride and actually bought the professional photo (above left), a rarity for me. Good thing, though, as this ended up being the only photo of us together during the entire trip.

We left Kissimmee on Wednesday morning and headed west, with Hurricane Erin hot on our heels. Our destination was Clearwater, but we had to make two stops on the way in Lakeland and Tampa to see two midgets. If I have at all whetted your appetite…
