abd.jpgWe had a joint birthday celebration  for Ashleigh and Briana in 2005 as we had in the past - and would again in the future. Ashleigh would be celebrating her 15th birthday on March 21 and Briana would be seeing her 12th on March 22. We held the gathering on Saturday the 19th, which was the day I kicked off a week’s vacation. As always, we invited Christi’s family along with some of mine, Carolyn’s, and Briana’s.

Here are some photos from the gathering - which don’t quite give a representation of who exactly was in attendance, but rather show the girls with their cakes and a couple of gifts. I was always appreciative that Carolyn would go the extra mile in preparing parties for the girls, and baking not one, but two special cakes. She did a great job of caring for them.

That’s a lot of fire. I was feeling old about this time.

Sam attended the party and was fascinated when I blew bubbles with gum

We would leave later this week for a long weekend trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge…

…which is coming up next.

  1. Gosh, we are only talking 3 years ago, but it is so amazing how much a child changes in 3 short years. Your girls were still kids and Ashleigh now is young adult. The picture of Sammy is adorable (I bought him that outfit.) He was just a baby, and now he is such a kid. I agree Carolyn always tried to give the girls her best and it’s nice to see you knew it too. I remember the same year we got together for Ashleigh and Briana’s birthday at Marions in Beavercreek.

  2. P.S. And there were 2 cakes at Marion’s also.

  3. What did you expect? I’ve always loved those girls! I remember a little kifafel (sp?) at this party! ;)

  4. Ah yes. The kifafel (sp?) would be when you went to pick up Ashleigh from her competition before the party and it took 45 minutes for you to find her!

And I’m fairly certain that the two-cake party at Marions was actually a different birthday in an earlier year TBD.
